Playa del Inglés

Playa Del Inglés is a town in the south of Gran Canaria and belongs to the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. It borders to San Fernando, Maspalomas, San Agustín and is located directly at the sea. The lively vacation center with the largest selection of hotels and a wide range of bars, clubs, restaurants and endless possibilities for sports enthusiasts such as water sports, horse riding, tennis, golf, hiking, biking or just walking on the long dream beach or the famous dunes of Playa del Inglés.

Interesting events are the famous Carnival, end of February to mid-March, the Gay Pride, mid-May, October and Winter Gay Pride. In the early 1960s, tourists began to discover the south in tourism and the first hotel complexes and apartment buildings were built. The island’s largest tourist center emerged from the previously arid, dusty, and sparsely inhabited region. In the neighboring city of San Fernando, Spanish residents and workers lived and worked for the new tourist fortress.
In recent years, more and more residents have settled there, and today the town has become an attractive and popular place to live.

In addition to the numerous international hotels, there are also many bungalow complexes and apartment houses. These facilities are often embedded in dreamy, tropical green spaces. Playa del Inglés, which is getting a little old, is particularly charming. Other than the bar culture, numerous restaurants and numerous shopping malls, long-term vacationers and residents will also find everything their “home heart” desires. German bakeries, butchers, supermarkets with many household products also facilitate shopping for tourists.
