Cruce de Arinaga

Cruce de Arinaga, is about 4 km from the coast and also a nice rather quiet residential area with nice shops. A little bit away from mass tourism the clocks tick a little slower here. Spanish serenity still reigns here. The place is very popular, especially for young families. Both places belong to the municipality of Agüimes.

The town rises around the junction of the main road south (GC-100) which was the only connection between the capital, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the south of the island (Maspalomas), from which one could access Agüimes or the beach of Arinaga.

The main driver of local development has been the industrial estate of Arinaga, created in the wide basin to the coast by a mixed compensation association involving the Cabildo Insular de Gran Canaria, the Agüimes City Council and the Sociedad Estatal de Participaciones Industriales (SEPI).

The main road of the Arinaga Crossing, Ansite Avenue, is a first-rate shopping street with four bank branches. Today, the town is an area of demographic and economic expansion, well endowed with educational facilities, sports, etc
