MASPALOMAS is a place on the south coast on the island of Gran Canaria, belongs to the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana and borders on Playa del Ingles, San Fernando, Meloneras and is located directly on the sea with a fantastic beach and the dunes. Maspalomas is shaped by tourism and has no other relevant economic sectors. The 120 year old and 70 m high lighthouse is the symbol of Maspalomas. When Playa del Ingles was built in the 1960s, at that time there was only a hotel complex in El Oasis near the lighthouse and some restaurants and boutiques. At the beginning of the 80s Sonnenland and Campo International were built. In this district you will find bungalow complexes as well as private properties. In El Tablero district further north are kindergartens, schools and new shopping centers and amusement parks.

Meloneras has emerged in recent years. To this day, this elegant and popular place continues to expand. There is also a casino and extremely luxuriously equipped hotel complexes with their spacious gardens and pool landscapes. The excellently designed promenade with its first-class restaurants, cafés and bars is popular with international and well-heeled guests. At the western end of the promenade you can already see the idyllic marina of Pasito Blanco. At the end of this promenade a fine sandy beach has been created. Maspalomas has two wonderful golf courses. The one in Campo de Golf borders on the nature reserve “El Charco” and the world-famous large dune landscape. The other is in Meloneras with a fantastic sea views.
