Arucas is a municipality located in the north of Gran Canaria. It is one of the oldest municipalities on the island. The rum that is distilled here is very famous. The urban area of the city of Arucas has the denomination of historical-artistic interest. The Church of San Juan Bautista, a key architectural building sculpted entirely in Arucas stone by the local farm workers, dates from 1909 and is worth seeing.
